How long before an event should I self-tan?
When using instant self-tan products with bronzer, you can self-tan as close to the event as you’d like! If you prefer to build your self-tan, start applying our Gradual Tan Lotion one week away from the event. Over the next 7 days, your tan will reach the maximum color.

How long does it take for Mystic Tan self-tan to develop?
This depends on whether you’re using instant or gradual self-tan products. Instant tan products contain cosmetic bronzer to make it look like you have a tan right away, while your real tan develops underneath in 2-4 hours. Gradual self-tan products build color slowly each day, and will reach maximum results in one week with daily use.

Can you put fake tan over real tan?
Yes! You can certainly use Mystic Tan products if you’d like to deepen the color of your suntan, or prolong that vacation glow. Just keep in mind that self-tanning doesn’t protect your skin from the sun, so you’ll still need SPF the next time you hit the beach.
How do you fix tan lines with self-tanner?
Getting an even, all over tan is easy with Mystic Tan products. Using either our Applicator Mitt or your hands, apply self tanner in a circular motion over areas that need a bit more color.
Will self-tanning change the color of my tattoos?
No, Mystic Tan products will not change the color of your tattoos. Our self-tan products are gluten free, paraben free, and non-comedogenic so they’re super gentle on your skin.
